While we all know that keeping up our health starts with a balanced and plant-rich diet, it can be hard to get in all essential nutrients such as vitamins, proteins, fats and more from making good food choices alone. Even people like me, that pay great attention to what they put into their body, can still struggle with that.
I discovered the Biotona superfood powders and they make it so much easier to get in all essential nutrients. Their powders are all natural, containing no additives, emulsifiers, artificial sweeteners or anything like that. They are 100% raw and organic, containing just the good stuff. I’ll admit on their own they don’t always taste so great, but the good thing is that they are incredibly easy to sneak into other recipes.
Most of us have come across superfood powders when visiting our local health stores, but we often struggle with finding ways to incorporate them into our diets. Once you get the know-how, it will actually become so easy to get in an extra portion of essential nutrients with just a scoop of these superfood powders.
Before we dig into the ways to actually use these powders it is important to know what a superfood actually is. Superfoods are foods that are exceptionally nutrient dense and therefore benefit your overall health and well-being. While they are no replacement for a healthy balanced diet, they can be a great addition. What is especially great about Biotona powders, is that they provide a high concentration of these superfoods and also offer powdered foods that we wouldn’t easily consume in its whole form, such as Matcha, Maca, Spirulina, Wheatgrass or Maqui.
I’ll now share more about my favourite superfood powders, their benefits and how to use them.
Cacao has numerous health benefits such as being high in antioxidants, being high in magnesium and other minerals, boosting brain function and mood and much more. For all the dark chocolate lovers, your guilty pleasure is really a healthy pleasure.
I use this powder in combination with coconut oil and maple syrup to create a chocolate coating for my Raw Caramel Squares but also as a “magic shell”. Cacao powder is also great to use in brownie recipes such as this Pumpkin Brownie or even in a smoothie with banana and dates. It also tastes great in a smoothie bowl, such as our Mocha Icecream Bowl.

Maca increases energy, balances hormones, can help with stress relief and regulates thyroid function. It has a mild caramel-like flavour so tastes great in sweet recipes.
We use it in our Raw Caramel Squares to complement the date caramel. It tastes great in a smoothie with frozen bananas, dates and vanilla such as our Nutty Frozen Shake. It is also a great addition to your raw energy balls or oats in the morning.

Beetroot has a very distinct flavour that does not please everyone, so adding a moderate amount of beetroot in a powdered form can be easier to consume. And it should be consumed because beets are really good for us; it builds blood, provides instant energy, contains many minerals and vitamins and detoxifies our liver.
Beetroot is naturally sweet and goes very well with other sweet or even savoury ingredients. The powder is great in sweet smoothie bowls with other berries or in raw energy balls with dates and nuts. It also tastes great in hummus and will give it a beautiful red colour. Surprisingly, this sweet powder works really well with cacao powder, since they are both earthy. So add a tablespoon of beetroot powder to your brownies next time.

This powder contains over 35 raw super food powders such as turmeric, kale, cacao, pineapple, papaya, beetroot and mushrooms that all have a beneficial effect on the skin because a healthy inside leads to a glowing outside.
Adding a tablespoon of this powder to your daily smoothies will help you to get in a lot of extra vitamins and minerals. Make a smoothie as a snack or breakfast with frozen banana, dates, berries and leafy greens for a glowing superfood meal.

Who thinks that proteins can only be found in animal products is mistaken. This Veggie Protein Powder with brown rice, peas and hemp seeds offers the ideal combination of amino acids for optimal absorption by our bodies. Additionally, hemp seeds are a real superfood as they help to improve brain function, mood and help with a better immune system.
Add a scoop of this powder to your Banana Bread, Smoothies, oatmeal and more to up your protein intake.

Matcha tea has gained in popularity over these last years and for good reason. It increases energy levels, is high in antioxidants, stimulates metabolism, boosts immune system and detoxifies your body. It has often been used as a healthier coffee alternative because it has a moderate amount of caffeine but it is released into the bloodstream at a more steady pace, not causing a caffeine rush.
While it is mainly used to make tea or lattés, it also tastes great in sweet recipes such as our Matcha Pistachio Squares, in a chia pudding or even cookies.
